We live in an age of infinite access to knowledge. And yet, our capacity for learning is bound by the laws of physics. The reality is, if we could, we would know everything. We would be competent at everything. But there are only 24 hours a day and 80 some-odd years till we kick the bucket. 

So while there isn't time to be competent at everything, now there's a way to 
look like we are. 

We're the Twitter version of an education.

Your Facebook feed lighting up with comments about the perpetual shit storm that is the middle east?  Have a date with a commodities trader and you have no idea what a commodity is or what a trader does?  Your father-in-law's favorite thing to talk about is falconry?

No problem. Somewhatcompetent.com will arm you with just enough knowledge so you can bullshit your way through any conversation.

Curriculums designed for people who have more important things to do than learn.

We've developed a system that imparts a great deal of knowledge on a subject in very little time. And with very little effort. We call this system, The Micro-Curriculum. 

A Micro-Curriculum takes vast quantities of information on a subject and distills it down to interesting and easily digestible chunks. But that's not the secret sauce. Each Micro-curriculum is created by an expert in the field, so you're getting exposed to a subject from an expert's perspective. In other words, you'll be fascinated by what experts on a subject find fascinating. You will have a PHd perspective when we both know you won't know dick. 

Appear to master a new subject every week.

Somewhatcompetent.com will eventually have an extensive searchable database of subjects.  But till then, each week we will post a subject that's on everyone's mind at the moment. So you can be sure to be somewhat competent on the issues of the day. Such as:
